Dr. Glynn has encouraged individuals to continue to follow public health guidelines and stay at home if they have any signs of Covid-19. He suggested that it happens to the vaccinated people as well and also requested people not to let the guard down.

Meanwhile, according to fresh data, the overall number of Covid-19 breakouts decreased in the week leading up to last Saturday.

There were 174 outbreaks this week, down from 203 the week before. There were 88 verified connected cases from 19 workplace outbreaks, and 123 confirmed linked cases from 13 nursing facility outbreaks.

In acute hospitals, there were 10 outbreaks, with 37 verified related cases.

There have been three school outbreaks recorded, with a total of 15 verified related cases. Two of the outbreaks occurred in elementary schools, while the third occurred at a special education institution.

The issue is a serious one. It is important that the Irish nation takes great care to prevent the spread of the disease now.
