Baba Adeeko makes a historic Debut for Wigan Athletic

The whole of the Galway community is proud of the young Baba Adeeko’s historic debut for the English Football Club Wigan Athletic in their EFL Cup fixture.

Galway Background

Baba Adeeko actually belongs to the Ballybane area in Galway city. Adeeko started playing football in his hometown at a very young age. Also, he certainly

 

remained a popular player in

the Galway area with his excellent soccer skills.

Eventually, he played at the historic Irish football Academy Mervue United, where he started his basics. It seemed obvious for the young Irish teenage football sensation to make it to the professional level. Eventually, at the age of 12, he left Mervue United to pursue Professional level.

As time went on, his parents relocated to the UK and he elevated himself to the Wigan Athletic circuit, where he played through the academy and their U-23 squads and participated in their training camps.

Debut

On the 21st of September, finally, the moment arrived. Wigan Athletic fielded a team that had the name of Baba Adeeko on it. It certainly was a proud moment for the whole of the Republic of Ireland, who saw their 18-year-old officially make a debut for the English Club Wigan Athletic.

Best Wishes

The game did not prove a very good one for Wigan Athletic. They lost 2-0 against Sunderland in the 3rd round of EFL.  But, it still remains a great memory for the Irish people and the Galway community.

Moreover, we hope, wish, and pray that Baba Adeeko will leave an everlasting impact on the English Football setup with his performances and achievements. There is a lot to come for him in the coming years.
